For more information contact the chair of the Elders.

Mission
The Mission Committee coordinates the outreach and social service ministries of the congregation. Committee members keep the community informed about congregational activities, provide opportunities for welcoming visitors and new members, and coordinate the congregation’s involvement in mission projects and social service ministries. Some of these include Meals on Wheels, Bread for the World, Salvation Army/Minnehaha Pantry, Our Saviour’s Shelter, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, World Hunger, and Lutheran Social Services. For information on these and additional activities, contact the chair of the Mission Committee.
Property
The Property Committee oversees the maintenance and improvement of all church properties. The members identify and evaluate areas needing improvements, screen and hire professional workers, and donate their own time and talents by doing much of the work themselves. The committee keeps our historically significant buildings functional and beautiful. For more information contact the chair of the Property Committee.
Stewardship
The Stewardship Board encourages members to give generously of their time and talents to further the work of the congregation and the church-at-large. The board uses the annual pledge program as well as letters and presentations to the congregation to encourage responsible stewardship. For more information contact the chair of the Stewardship Board.
Worship
The Worship Committee assists the Pastors in providing regular and special worship services conducted according to the liturgical traditions of the Christian Church and the worship heritage of Christ Church Lutheran. Members review worship practices, suggest modifications, and help implement changes. For more information contact the chair of the Worship Committee.
Youth
The Junior High and Senior High Youth Groups provide high school age youth with opportunities for faith development, social activities, and service. Some of the activities include overnight retreats, movies and discussions, community service projects, and assisting with the congregation’s worship services and programs. Senior High Youth participate in a winter weekend vacation and a longer summer trip to another state. For more information contact the chair of the Youth Committee.
Transformational Ministry
The Transformational Ministry Team helps equip the congregation for purposeful, mission-oriented change. The Team assists the congregation in clarifying its vision and taking concrete actions to see the vision unfold in the church and larger community. For more information contact the chair of the Transformational Ministry Team.
Endowment
The Christ Church Endowment Fund provides members and friends of the congregation an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing ministries of Christ Church. The endowment provides a sheltered principal amount that is invested by the endowment committee to earn interest. The interest in turn may be used for current program needs. A variety of giving opportunities are available to individuals who choose to donate money as well as derive income or tax benefits from their financial gifts during their lifetime. For more information, contact a member of the Endowment Committee.
Nominating
The Nominating Committee develops a list of candidates for congregational offices and committees. After contacting the candidates, the committee presents the list to the congregation at the Annual Meeting. Members of the committee also help fill committee vacancies as they occur. For more information contact the chair of the Nominating Committee.
Preservation
The Preservation Committee of Christ Church Lutheran works to preserve the integrity and beauty of this architecturally significant building while, at the same time, encouraging its use for outreach. Projects include collaborating with the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Walker Art Museum on the Saarinen Retrospective, Fall, 2008; promoting our application for National Landmark Status; developing and maintaining archives; coordinating a paint project for interior spaces and new interior signage.
Communication Task Force
Communication that reflects the vision, values and culture of our distinctive congregation are vital. To establish and support a clear and consistent image of Christ Church Lutheran, the members of this task force work with a graphic designer on the development of logo, tagline, website, brochures, style sheet, font choice. Hospitable building signage is also a goal. For more information, contact the church office.
