Choir
The primary worshiping voice of Christ Church Lutheran is that of the gathered people, the assembly. Our choir assists this primary voice in several ways. By learning new music first, the choir help others find their voice. Sometimes the choir will sing a sort of dialogue with the assembly during the worship service, often through the Psalms. And there are parts of the service in which the choir sings on behalf of the assembly, raising their voices in song to God.

We invite you to join us! The choir welcomes singers of every ability. When you come to rehearse with us on Thursday evenings from 7-8 PM (September through May), you will find a joyful, easygoing group, not at all intimidating. You will fit in, and we will teach you whatever you need to know. If you’d like to try it out for a short time, that’s fine too. Either just come to a rehearsal (come to the first glass door on the left for entrance; the choir room is under the sanctuary), or if you prefer, connect with one of our cantors, Robert Farlee or Martin Seltz.

Instrumentalist
As does the choir, solo and ensemble vocalists and instrumentalists support the assembly in worship. Even something as simple as the reverberating tones of our Tibetan singing bowls invite us to calm reflection. Some of us may affectionately joke about "Cantor Bob and his African drum", or find ourselves challenged to clap on the off-beat, but we welcome it. There is a place for you.

Acolyte
Traditionally, acolytes light and carry candles for the worship service, for baptisms and weddings, and for the reading of the Scriptures and the Gospel. At Christ Church Lutheran, they may also serve wine during the Eucharist. It is a meaningful and historic practice of service to the pastor, the lector, and the assembly.
