<image:title>Our Welcome - The welcome is genuine, even though it comes from imperfect people.</image:title>
<image:caption>We all live in daily need of God’s mercy, which heals, forgives, and reconciles us. Our welcome has its source not in us but in our namesake, Christ Jesus. Christ is the one who welcomes, and Christ is the Light. That light is reflected in our beautiful sanctuary and, we hope, in the faces and actions of every member and guest among us. Welcome to the Light!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Worship</image:title>
<image:caption>At Christ Church, worship is at the very center of our life together. It shapes us as a community on Sunday mornings, but also far beyond that time. We are followers of Christ, we are part of the universal or catholic church, and we have inherited the riches of the Lutheran tradition. And each of those influences our worship.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Worship</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s a rich tradition, but not a difficult one. We invite you to come and find your part in it. Our worship invites expression of our gifts in many forms: Welcome and guide the assembly as we gather, as a greeter or usher Prepare our worship space as an acolyte Proclaim the word from the scriptures as a lector Express our response to God as a prayer writer Support the assembly in celebrating the eucharist as an assisting minister</image:caption>

<image:caption>Following the social unrest and racial reckoning that occurred in the wake of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department in May of 2020, the leadership of Christ Church decided that one small response would be to give more generously to new and existing community partners, especially those serving communities that have experienced systemic racism. Each year since then, Christ Church members have been invited to give a “second tithe” to partners chosen by our Mission Committee and Racial Justice Task Force. If you would like to pledge and give to the Community Partners Fund, you can do so as you make your financial pledge each year, or talk with Pastor Miriam.</image:caption>

<image:caption>June 1, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Martin Luther once called music “that divine and most excellent gift.” This festival of song gives thanks for that gift and especially—in the year of Cantor Robert Buckley Farlee’s 75th birthday--celebrates its manifestation in his many contributions to Christian liturgical life. Sing and listen as a festival choir, nationally renowned musicians, and assembly come together to lift up the joy of making music in community</image:caption>

<image:caption>March 16, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Hyvää Urhonpäivää! Happy Saint Urho’s Day! You’ve heard of Saint Patrick—but Saint Urho? The tongue-in-cheek legend of Saint Urho says he chased the grasshoppers out of Finland by uttering the phrase Heinäsirkka, heinäsirkka, mene täältä (roughly translated: “Grasshopper, grasshopper, go to hell!”). In the end, the day offers all of us—Irish, Finnish, and everyone else—a time for music and a good party. Join the Ameriikan Poijat brass ensemble for an afternoon of merriment.</image:caption>
